It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Christmas Tree 2007
It has been nice having real trees for Christmas.

Jared and I have started a tradition
of picking out a new ornament together
every year. The ornament is suppose to
signify something that happened during that year.
This is ornament "2007" It is a little house, and above
the wreath is says, "New Home." It signifies yet another move
that we made this year, but hopefully, a move that
is a little more permanent.
We had carolers (the youth from our church)
on Friday night!
On the San Antonio Riverwalk

It truly is! I'm not saying Christmas is my favorite holiday because I sure enjoy Thanksgiving just as much. However, I have to admit, there is nothing like the feel of cold air while you sip a peppermint white chocolate mocha, along a river trail that is decorated in Christmas lights. I just love this season and what it brings (especially my mom's hot apple cider :). This week will be busy as we get ready for the holidays.

Jared and I plan to spend part of Christmas day with his family and mine. Then on the day after Christmas, Amanda, Michelle, her fiance, Kevin, Cailyn, Jared and I will all pile in a suburban and head to Knoxville, Tennessee . We are going to spend some time with my dad, step-mom, and step-brother. I can't tell you how excited I am about this trip. Growing up, I would spend about a month in Tennessee visiting during the summer. The place holds alot of dear memories in my heart, and the chance to share some of that with Jared is going to be really nice. The best part though, is that we are all going to be together as a family for the first time in years, it will be special.

Happy Holidays friends and family, may yours be safe and full of joy!
